DIDSBURY - The Terry Fox Run in Didsbury has been postponed for a week due to the inclement weather, say organizers.

The run was originally scheduled for Sept. 16. It will now go on Sunday, Sept. 23 at Rosebud Park with registration at noon and the run starting at 1 p.m.

Kathleen Windsor, one of the organizers, said she and co-organizer Craig Martin, Didsbury Fire Department chief, made the decision Saturday night to postpone the Sept. 16 event.

"We had checked with the weatherman and the snow, wind, frost and temperature was not going to be conducive to anyone walking on the trails so we postponed it for one week," said Windsor. "Next weekend is going to be beautiful. Everything else will be the same (times and location)."

The Terry Fox Run raises money and awareness for cancer research. Since 1980, the Terry Fox Foundation has funded more than 1,200 research projects.
