A local farm possesses not just Canada's best Black Angus bull, but the finest one amongst all breeds, winning the Double Supreme this year.

Remitall Farms Inc. is located south of Olds and its 1,089-kilogram prized animal — Remitall F Prospector 110Z — was recently declared the Double Supreme winner after winning two competitions at the Canadian Western Agribition in Regina.

“It's pretty nice. It's a pretty good award. We've had many champions over in Regina before but we've never won the overall supreme,” said Jacci Latimer.

The farm won a total of four shows en route to the title. First, Remitall Prospector 110Z was crowned Grand Champion and Supreme Champion at FarmFair International in Edmonton.

As Grand Champion, Remitall F Prospector 110Z was named the best bull of his breed — Canadian Black Angus. In the Supreme category, he competed against numerous champions of other breeds.

The prize for Supreme Champion in Edmonton was a Dodge Ram truck with a sticker price of $42,000.

The two-year-old bull repeated the act at the Canadian Western Agribition in Regina, winning both Grand Champion and Supreme Champion.

Remitall F Prospector 110Z, who was also named Canadian Black Angus Purebred Show Bull of the Year, is washed, dried and walked daily, Latimer said.

His owners include Gary, Jacci, Richard, Kelly, Lauren, Louis and Ella Latimer and Brendyn Elliot.
