The West Carstairs 4-H Beef Club held its Steer Weigh-in Day for the 12 members enrolled in the Market Steer Project.
It officially begins the 206-day feeding marathon of every morning and evening no matter what the weather brings.
The members learned the importance of administering the proper medications so that their animals would grow without the hinderance of parasites.
Also, each steer was given a brand new 4-H ear tag…it’s their bling for the ring! The combination of great animal genetics, high quality feeding rations and some TLC will surely result in some delicious 4-H beef ready for the May 21 Achievement Day and Sale.
