Weather conditions are hampering travel on Highway 2, also known as the Queen Elizabeth II Highway (QE II), north of Calgary Thursday, warns the province’s travel information service and RCMP.

According  to 511 Alberta update at 10:42 a.m. March 13, there was reduced visibility in blowing snow and fog noted.

A fog advisory in place for Rocky View County and Mountain View County was extended Thursday morning to include Red Deer County near Innisfail, Bowden, Penhold and Pine Lake.

“Adjust your driving and maintain a safe following distance,” the travel advisory service said.

Further north, Leduc RCMP reported at 10:57 a.m. that members were responding to several motor vehicle collisions on the QE II Highway in Leduc area due to poor road conditions.

“If you do not have to travel, please stay home,” Leduc RCMP said.
