Motorists using Highway 22 north of Cremona this summer can expect to see some delays due to an upgrade project, Alberta Transportation officials said.

The project will be focused on the highway between Highway 27 and Highway 580. The project will include the widening of a portion of the roadway north of Cremona.

"Work will include paving, grading and the construction of a climbing lane out of Cremona (northbound)," said spokesperson Anna Neale.

"There will be some minor traffic impacts, such as speed and lane reductions and flag persons on site."

The project is expected to get underway in summer 2017 and be completed in the fall, she said.
