Tickets are free for children under 12 when accompanied by an adult. Youth and adult admission will be by donation. ($5/youth and $10/adult recommended) and will be available at the Didsbury, Olds and Sundre RCMP detachments and at the door.

Seating is limited, so it is recommended that people come early to ensure admittance.

CAVSS is a police-based non-profit organization that supplies immediate crisis intervention and ongoing support, information, referrals, court orientation and accompaniment to victims of crime and tragedy.

This includes victims of family and domestic violence, sexual assaults (children and adults), assaults, senior abuse, break and enters, theft, as well as fire, flood, and any community emergency support.

About 50 per cent of our funding is supplied by the Solicitor General of Alberta –Victim of Crime Fund, the other half is obtained through matching grants and fundraising initiatives.

This event is not only to raise much-needed money for our program but also to raise awareness about the issues facing victims of crime and about the services, assistance and laws in place to help victims and their families. We are hoping that this will become a biannual event and something the community will look forward to.

- Waycott is program coordinator with CAVSS
