Jeff Holmes, Mountain View County's manager of parks and agricultural services, has been named interim director of legislative and community services.Holmes takes over the position from Tony Martens, who was appointed to the permanent chief administrative officer position at the start of the month.Assistant agricultural fieldman Jane Fulton is acting parks and ag services manager in Holmes' absence.Holmes started with MVC in 1998 as a seasonal ag services board staff member, becoming assistant ag fieldman in 2000. After two and a half years working as an agronomist in Kentucky, Holmes returned to the county and two years later took over as ag fieldman when Larry Rice retired from the position. The parks duties were added in 2006.Holmes assumed the interim position on Feb. 8.
