Jeff Ible is the NDP candidate for the Rimbey-Rocky Mountain House-Sundre riding.

Ible is a full-time labour relations officer with United Food and Commercial Workers local 401 in Calgary.

"I represent over 1,000 workers in Calgary anywhere from retail in Safeway/Super Store," said Ible. "I represent folks at Lilydale chicken plant. I have members in flour milling. I have members at Avis Rental Car. I deal with a lot of different industries, a lot of different collective agreements, both federal and provincial labour relations."

Ible was born and raised in north Edmonton. He has resided in Calgary since 2014.

He enjoys spending time in the outdoors in the Rocky Mountain House area whenever he can.

"If I'm not working, my passion is fly-fishing, so I spend a lot of time in the summer hiking and fly-fishing in the rivers around Rocky Mountain House," he said. "The North Ram, South Ram, Blackstone, those are some of my favourite places to fish, so I'm up there all the time in the summer."

Ible said he wants to carry on the work started by the NDP government over the past four years.

"We want to continue building an economy that works for everyone," he said. "We want to continue to fight hard and smart for an oil pipeline to have access to better markets and a fair price for our chief natural resource, which is, of course, crude oil. As well, we want to diversify our economy."

Ible said his values as an advocate for worker rights have always been aligned with the Alberta NDP.

"I think Rachel (Notley) has done an amazing job of steering Alberta through a very tough economic situation, which she inherited from the previous government of 44 years," he said.

"She's done a masterful job of keeping Alberta afloat through very tough times without making cuts to vital services or making things worse for working families."
