PENHOLD -- For the third time longtime Penhold community leader Danielle Klooster will campaign in the provincial election to win the Innisfail-Sylvan Lake riding for the Alberta Party.

She was the party's candidate in both the 2012 and 2015 provincial elections, and is still determined to fight for a better deal for Central Alberta,  and to "take the politics out of government."

Klooster has lived in Penhold since 2000. She has served the community in many capacities, including two terms on town council.

She has been operating her consulting practice, Danikloo Consulting, since 2012, and is a certified management consultant (CMC) and respected Central Alberta organizational development specialist.

Klooster is a nominee for the 2019 Red Deer & District Community Foundation Women of Excellence Awards, in the category of community.

For the past two years, in addition to consulting, she was the senior business development advisor at Catapult Entrepreneurs, where she fostered regional economic growth by supporting entrepreneurship and new business development. She is still involved with Catapult, delivering training and business coaching.

Klooster said she's a passionate advocate on issues such as economic diversification, entrepreneurship, poverty reduction, seniors' long-term care, health care and access to mental health services.
