Mountain View County has scheduled a fresh round of public open houses to unveil the first draft version of a revised Municipal Development Plan.The open house dates are set for Tuesday, Nov. 29 at the Sundre Legion; Thursday, Dec. 1 at Cremona Community Hall; Tuesday, Dec. 6 at Reed Ranch School; and Thursday, Dec. 8 at the Carstairs Half Century Club.At all four sessions, the public will be guided through the key changes proposed for the county's core land-use document and then asked to provide responses, interim planning director John Rusling said Thursday.ìWe're going to have a short summary ñ about three pages ñ to highlight the major changes, so everybody will get a copy of that,î Rusling said. ìAnd we're going to have a questionnaire asking for feedback on the key changes.îRusling said the draft document will also be posted on the county website, hopefully at least one week prior to the first open house.Doors open at 6 p.m. and councillor presentations will begin at 7 p.m. The open houses are scheduled to wrap up at 9 p.m.Meanwhile, council has passed first reading of a bylaw to extend the suspension of provisions in the current MDP that would allow multi-lot development until June 30, 2012. Adopted in November 2010, the suspension was due to expire at the end of this year. The extension provides time for the completion of the MDP revision, expected during the spring.The public hearing date for the extension bylaw is set for Dec. 7.
