CARSTAIRS -- Carstairs Fire Department recently held its awards ceremony at the Carstairs Legion.
Fire Chief Jordan Schaffer said the ceremony went very well.
The winner of the Overall Performance award was Madison Wohl, while the Officer's Choice award went to Lara Pawluk. Pawluk also received a five-year service award.
Jeff Victoria was also awarded a five-year service award. Two members were brought off probationary period: Ben Issler and Josh Van Arnam.
"The recipients of the performance award and officer's choice award were very surprised that they had received it," said Schaffer. "But I was not surprised at all. They were definitely two of the best picks."
