RCMP officers, some carrying high-powered rifles, were searching a rural property east of Didsbury on Thursday morning in what police are calling a planned operation involving a search warrant. Roads in the area were blocked as the search warrant was executed. Officers could be seen going in and out of a large two-storey building at the site east of the QE II Highway. RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Curtis Peters declined to give details of the operation, saying that a media release would be issued sometime Thursday afternoon.
