The provincial government's property rights task force will be coming to Olds on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at the Cow Palace, its only stop in Mountain View County.It will be an opportunity for county landowners to speak to cabinet ministers one-on-one regarding property rights at the open house, which will start at 1 p.m.The task force was created by Premier Alison Redford last November to deal with Albertans' property rights concerns. Its aim is to hear a number of perspectives and comments that will help government understand what's working and where it must improve.The task force is chaired by Diana McQueen, minister of environment and water, with Evan Berger, minister of agriculture and rural development, sitting as vice-chair.During the month of December, the task force members met with association groups and stakeholders.According to McQueen, the group will then produce a report incorporating what they heard and recommendations going forward by Jan. 31.The task force will also be meeting residents in Grimshaw, Grande Prairie, St. Paul, Westlock, Rocky Mountain House, Brooks, Hanna, Medicine Hat, and Lethbridge from Jan. 9 to 17.
