The province has announced 54 new cases of people contracting COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases to 6,017. Today, 3,809 Albertans have recovered from the virus.
Two more people have died from the virus, bringing the total number of people who have died in the province to 114.

As the province starts to open on May 14, Alberta chief medical officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw says that the province is shifting from “stay home” messaging to a “stay safe” message. It is important for Albertans to continue to follow physical distancing measures, washing hands, not touching our faces, and most importantly, staying home if we are ill.
