Katarina Colosino, outgoing Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) with the 3025 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps, was recognized during last weekend's ceremonial review for seven years as a cadet, all with the Didsbury-based group.

“I’m very proud to call myself a cadet,” Colosino said following the ceremony. “I’ve had a lot of good experiences and I’m very thankful that it gave me the leadership skills that I have now.”

Capt. T. Kaczmarski, commanding officer of the 3025, presented Colosino with a framed certificate of recognition.

Colosino’s father George is a veteran who encouraged her to become a cadet when she was 12 years old.

She said she would “highly recommend” other young people consider joining the cadets.

Colosino, 19, is now aged out of the cadets and plans to pursue post-secondary education. She said she may become a civilian instructor with the cadets someday.
