Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for Sundre

Environment Canada says some of these thunderstorms may produce strong wind gusts, damaging hail and heavy rain.

Thunderstorm are expected to develop this afternoon in the Sundre area and will move slowly eastward through the day.

Environment Canada says some of these thunderstorms may produce strong wind gusts, damaging hail and heavy rain.


Large hail could damage property, break windows, dent vehicles and cause serious injury. Environment Canada also warns residents to be on guard against and seek shelter in the event of severe lightning accompanying these types of storms.

Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall. The warning is in effect for Airdre, Cochrane, Olds and Sundre.
