DIDSBURY - The Showband Marum from the Netherlands will be performing in Didsbury on July 3 in the run-up to appearing in the Calgary Stampede parade on July 5.
The 44-member adult marching band will be rehearsing in the Didsbury arena in the afternoon starting at 2 p.m. That rehearsal is scheduled to wrap up at about 5:45.
The musicians will then perform a free-of-charge evening concert in the arena from 7 to 8 p.m. That show is open to the public.
The band is coming to Didsbury thanks to a local connection: one of the band members is related to area dairy farmer Martien Huyser.
When in Calgary the band will also be taking part in the World Championship for Marching Bands.
