A suspicious vehicle complaint in the eastern part of Mountain View County last week resulted in the capture of two suspects and the recovery of a stolen vehicle.
On July 12 at approximately 11 a.m., Olds RCMP received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle east of Olds near Twp. Rd. 322 and Secondary Highway 791.
Police say when they arrived, they located a blue Ford F-350 truck that had been stolen out of Red Deer earlier that day.
The driver had fled on foot and a female passenger was taken into custody, police report.
Neighbours in the area were alerted to the description of the male who had fled, including the fact that he had arm tattoos.
Red Deer Police Dog Section was called to assist in the search.
Several hours later, police say a neighbour notified police when the suspect was seen in a nearby field.
Police say they attended the location and the male was taken into custody a short time later.
Khoda Allyn Sullivan, 33, has been charged with eight offences including possession of stolen property over $5,000, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and remaining counts of failing to comply with a recognizance.
Tia Marie Cobbe, 32, has been charged with one count of possession of stolen property over $5,000. Warrants from several jurisdictions were executed on both subjects.
“The Olds RCMP would like to thank the observant residents of the area for their initial call of the suspicious vehicle as well as their assistance in having the individuals taken into custody,” a press release states.
