’Tis the season for Christmas markets

Seasonal markets being held in Olds and Carstairs Nov. 17 - 18

With the ice sheets in at the Sundre Curling Rink, the Sundre Farmers’ Market recently hosted its annual Christmas markets at the Sundre Community Centre.

The first Christmas markets in the town were held Nov. 10-11, but anyone who missed their chance to stock up on some gift ideas or goodies for themselves will have another chance on Dec. 1-2 when the market returns to the community centre featuring an assortment of handcrafted items and homemade treats.

Meanwhile a host of other seasonal markets are upcoming this weekend:

• Country Wonderland Market runs Nov. 17 and 18 at the Cow Palace Event Centre in Olds. A variety of quality baking, crafts and collectibles perfect for holiday giving available Friday from 5 - 9 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

• Carstairs Christmas Craft Market runs Nov. 17 from 2 - 8 p.m. and Nov. 18  10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Carstairs Community Hall. Donations are being accepted for the Carstairs Lions Christmas hamper program.
