DIDSBURY - Traffic began moving again on Highway 2 northbound east of Didsbury Friday morning several hours after at least one motor vehicle collision tied up traffic.
"Vehicle recoveries have been completed. All lanes are clear; traffic is moving again," the province's travel advisory service 511 Alberta said in its 9:28 a.m. Jan. 31 update.
About an hour earlier, traffic in the area had reportedly been at a standstill.
At about 6:34 a.m., 511 Alberta advised travellers to expect delays northbound on Highway 2, also known as Queen Elizabeth II Highway, near Township Road 310 south of the Didsbury exit due to a motor vehicle collision.
“MVC is affecting the left lane, traffic getting through on the right,” the travel advisory service’s 7:21 a.m. update said.
In its 9:05 a.m. Jan. 31 update, the province’s travel advisory service 511 Alberta, said traffic was "slowly getting through" the area near Township Road 310 south of the Didsbury overpass.
“Continue to expect delays or use an alternate route,” it advised, saying “vehicle recoveries in progress.”
A few minutes after the update, Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a fog advisory for the area.
