CARSTAIRS - A local massage therapist charged after allegedly secretly videotaping his clients has pleaded not guilty and will go to trial in the fall.

Mark Henning Oliver Blessmann faces two counts of voyeurism. He is the owner of Blessmann’s Day Spa, located in south Carstairs.

Blessmann was charged in November after video recordings of female clients were discovered on a computer that had been taken in for servicing, say police.

“On October 30, Didsbury RCMP were contacted by a computer repair technician who reported that he had been contracted to repair a laptop,” said RCMP Cpl. Curtis Peters.

“While making the repair, the technician discovered video files that concerned him. The technician provided the computer in question to police and an investigation was launched.”

Blessmann entered not guilty pleas at a recent court appearance and set an Oct. 4 trial date in Didsbury provincial court.

The Massage Therapist Association of Alberta has suspended Blessmann’s licence to practice.
