OLDS — The annual Expedia Cruises Ladies Open Golf tournament, held July 13 at the Olds Golf Club was a real battle in both the gross and net sides of the event.
Lisa Hall of the Sirocco Golf Club near south Calgary won the overall gross championship, carding a two-over-par 74, fending off Susan Plum and Jenny Lee, who had both been battling her for the lead all day.
Plum finished with a one-over 75 and Lee ended up in second place with a 76.
Gail Dezall and Kristine Schultz of the Olds Golf Club finished well back, with an 83 and 86 respectively.
On the net side, Shelly Ginther, with a six-under-par 66 won the overall net honours.
Judy Sutton shot a five-under-par 67, Carla Bartholow and Rowena Hoeve shot four-under-par 68.
A total of 111 women from across central Alberta entered the event.
