Coaches Don McCullough and Garret Dichrow worked with the Sundre Capital Pressure Bison nine-man football team during practice last week. The team was scheduled to open the season in Edmonton on Sept. 2, but that game was postponed. Sundre will now open the season against Carstairs on Sept. 10, with the home opener on Sept. 13 against Didsbury. First-year head coach McCullough says the local team should be competitive this year. “Once we get all our kids back from holidays and from working in the fields, we've got a good shot at it this year,” he said. “We've got quite a few returning players. We're tiny but we're tough.” Assistant coach Dichrow says he too believes the team will make a good showing on the field in 2011. “We've got some senior guys who will be good leaders on this team,” he said. “We will be competitive I'm sure.”
