OLDS — The Black and White team won this year’s Soldsheim Cup event at the Olds Golf Club.
“The Soldsheim Cup is a ladies team event where the winning team gets bragging rights and gets to eat dinner first,” club pro Wade Bearchell wrote in an email.
Three teams participated in the Aug. 20 event: Black and White, Purple as well as Red and Navy.
It attracted 32 players. That's on par with previous years, club pro/manager Wade Bearchell says.
The Soldsheim Cup runs on a net Stableford system.
Unlike regular golf where the lowest score wins, the exact opposite occurs under the Stableford system.
Different points are awarded for bogeys, pars, birdies or eagles.
