Former Olds resident Danielle Lappage won bronze during the 2018 Grand Prix of Spain freestyle wrestling competition.
Lappage competed in the women’s 68-kilogram division, held July 15-16 in Madrid.
In all, Canadian wrestlers won 10 medals. Among them, Erica Wiebe of Calgary and Jevon Balfour of Scarborough, Ont. each won gold.
Lappage is currently attending the University of Calgary.
She represented Canada during the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio but was unable to compete, due to an injury.
