OLDS — The Dereck Doi rink (lead Wayne MacMillan, second Scott Medd and third Gerry Schalin) won the first event of the annual Olds Curling Club bonspiel.
The Morley Kjargaard rink (lead Craig Jensen, second Steen Petersen and third Doug Manning) won the second event.
The Ron Urbanowski rink (lead Katrina Lausen, second Colleen Czarnota and third Warren Smith) won the third event.
Coordinator Henry Czarnota said a full slate of 16 teams participated and “everything went very well” for the bonspiel, held Jan. 13-17 at the Olds Curling Club.
