Dolphins do well at Killam meet

The Innisfail Dolphin Swim Club dove into its first swim meet of the season. On Saturday June 2, 16 members swam in Killam. The club changed regions this year, so it was the first time to attend a meet in Killam.

Fourteen swimmers achieved their personal best swim times including Kaitlyn Bowe, Kayla Brown, Kirklen Donahue, Faith Gette, Josh Gette, Sarah Gette, Nicole Johnston, Chandler Kaluzniak, Donovan Pineau, Mackenzie Reeves, Allison Russell, Maddison Sauter, Justin Valentine and Sara Valentine.

Relay teams made huge waves in the pool as well. The girls 10 and under team, consisting of Nicole Johnston, Sarah Gette, Kayla Brown and Amy Valentine placed first in the medley relay.

Girls 12 and under relay team consisting of Alli Russell, Mackenzie Reeves, Maddison Sauter and Kaityln Bowe placed second in both medley relay and free relay.

Boys 17 and under team Justin Valentine, Josh Gette, Chandler Kaluzniak and Donovan Pineau finished first in both medley and free relays.

The overall aggregate winners for the Killam swim meet for Innisfail Dolphins were Donovan Pineau, gold; Sydney Thompson, gold; Faith Gette, gold; Josh Gette, gold; and Justin Valentine, bronze.

The next swim meet will be in Lacombe June 14 and 16.
