OLDS — Members of the École Olds High School senior girls basketball team get back on the hard court Jan. 29, when they tip off against Didsbury in the CLC gym in Olds.
It’s their first action since exam week last week.
“The girls are playing well coming off winning their home tournament in December and have only one loss in league play,” coach Leanne Haines-Doig said in an email.
During the next few weeks, the Spartans will compete in tournaments in Canmore, at Olds Kononia Christian School and in Hanna as well as league games on Wednesdays.
“We have a cohesive, talented, hardworking group that competes in each game,” Haines-Doig wrote.
Haines-Doig says the team is "strong defensively" but players "struggle to score and rebound."
She says they're small, but quick and "work very well as a team."
"They continue to improve with each practice and game," she added.
