OLDS — Minor football remains strong this season in Olds.

Pretty dominant in fact.

The Bantam Bulldogs finished their regular season with a perfect 4-0 record and take on Drumheller this weekend.

The peewee Huskies suffered their first loss of the season in their final regular season game, bowing 28-6 to Stettler at Normie Kwong park in Olds Oct. 15. Their record is now 5-1.

“We still hold first place in the league,” Dennis Yurchevich, head coach of the Huskies and Bulldogs wrote in an email.

“Stettler seemed to be a much more prepared team this week than we were,” Yurchevich wrote. “They certainly came to play, and kudos to them.

“We struggled on both sides of the ball this week. Both our passing and running games weren't as effective as they needed to be.

“Defensively, we struggled to maintain containment on the outside and we struggled to stop the run up the middle.

“These are things that we will focus on during our bye week this week, while we get ready for playoffs.”
