OLDS — As of Oct. 2, the École Olds High School (ÉOHS) JV girls volleyball team stood undefeated – and that includes winning their home tournament.

In an email, Coach Julia Wright said as of that date, the team had won both Chinook's Edge School Division league games they’d played.

They also placed first overall in their home tournament, held Sept. 18-19.

Wright said she and co-coach Devyn Rice are pleased with their 12-member team.

“Our team has incredible spirit and energy that helps the girls connect as a team to create court chemistry and build friendships,” Wright wrote.

“I’m very excited to continue to watch the girls continue to develop and play the game they love.”

The Spartans play a couple of more tournaments before participating in zones in mid-November.

Wright said she’s grateful for the guidance and expertise she’s received from ÉOHS athletic director Jeff Clattenburg.
