OLDS — The École Olds High School Spartan football team ended the season on a high note, beating the High River Mustangs 39-7 in High River on Oct. 26.

As a result, the team ended the season with a 4-2 record.

In an email, Spartans head coach Kent Lorenz said the team played a “complete game” against High River.

“All three phases of the game were well executed, with the players playing at a high level of competition,” he wrote.

“The team has showed tremendous growth this season, with each team member contributing to the Spartans season-ending victory.”

Lorenz was asked what enabled the team to do so well this season.

"Hard work and dedication by the players and a committed coaching staff helped contribute to a 4-2 season," he wrote.

"Playing together as a team vs individuals creates a culture of trust and the willingness for players to play for each other. Individual stats are set aside for group success."

Lorenz said the team would like to thank all the parents and community for their support during the season.
