A game between the Olds Grizzlys and Brooks Bandits that ended in fights at the closing buzzer on Oct. 25 has resulted in suspensions for numerous players.

Grizzlys forward Logan Kerner will miss the next five games for violating rule No. 7.5 under the Canadian Junior Hockey League's (CJHL) junior A supplement, a schedule of penalties for various offences.

Rule No. 7.5 lists the punishments for fights during the pre-game or at a period's end. The five-game-suspension is handed to a player deemed to be the instigator.

Head coach Brett Hopfe was suspended a total of four games, three of them because an instigator was identified under rule No. 7.5.

Also under rule No. 7.5, the Grizzlys were fined $1,500.

Bandits head coach Ryan Papaioannou was suspended for one game.

A number of other players were also suspended.

Harrison Klein and Bandits defenceman Jesse Baird were suspended three games each.

Kirk Johnson and Bandits defenceman Oliver Lester were suspended for a game each after being assessed game misconduct penalties.

Cale Brown and Bandits forward Mark Logan were suspended a game each.

Bandits forward Austin Plevy was suspended one game for spraying water at the Grizzlys bench.

The rematch is scheduled for Nov. 12 in Brooks.
