OLDS — Time is of the essence, as the Olds pee wee Huskies football team has discovered.

The Huskies fell 31-14 to the Panthers in Stettler, and Huskies head coach Dennis Yurchevich hinted that offensive line blocking was part of the problem.

If the O-line can provide more time to the quarterback to find open receivers, the team can gain more yardage and score more points.

“This week in practice we need to focus more on the offensive line blocking and our passing game,” Yurchevich wrote in an email.

“We came out firing and scored on our opening drive,” he wrote. “After that, our offence couldn't stay together as much as we needed them to, although they still played a great game.”

He was pretty happy with the D.
“All the defence work in practice this week paid off as, except for a couple of costly mistakes, we held our own,” Yurchevich wrote, adding that it was “the best defensive performance of the season so far.”

“We're really coming together,” he added. “(We) Just need a little more time.”
