CARSTAIRS - There was plenty of curling action at the Carstairs rink on the weekend as 20 teams battled it out during the ladies' bonspiel.
The bonspiel featured a mix of local ladies' league curlers and visiting out-of-town curlers.
Organizer Lee Anne Comrie said the competition was very good and there were plenty of great games.
"It went very well," said Comrie. "It was well attended and went off pretty much without a hitch."
The final match results were as follows: A -- Karen Verbonak's rink from Carstairs and Airdrie defeated Bev Buckley of Olds; B -- Cindy Holt of Calgary defeated Heather Marston of Carstairs; C -- Heather Kuntz of Calgary defeated Tami Barnes of Carstairs; and D -- Libby Clark of Carstairs defeated Amy Venneman of Olds.
