Several local swimmers from a number of clubs won medals at the Alberta Summer Games in Leduc last weekend.
Wesley Wilks, 15, lives in Didsbury, and was competing for Zone 2.
He won gold in 50 metre (m) butterfly and silver in 50 freestyle (free), 50 backstroke, 100 backstroke, 50 breaststroke and 100 breaststroke and 4-by-50-metre freestyle relay and 4-by-50-m medley relay.
Stephen McMurter, 15, lives in Carstairs and is competing for Zone 2.
He won bronze in 100-m freestyle and 4-by-50-m freestyle relay and silver in 100-m breaststroke.
Ian Lowther, 17, lives in Crossfield, and was competing for Zone 2.
He won silver in 100-m freestyle and the 4-by-50-m freestyle relay. Lowther also obtained a bronze in 50-m freestyle
Angela Lowther, 16, lives in Crossfield, and was also competing for Zone 2.
She obtained a silver in 50-m breaststroke and 50-m freestyle plus bronze in 100-m freestyle, and 40-by-50-m freestyle relay.
Justin Valentine, 15, lives in the Bowden area, and was competing for Zone 4.
He won gold in 200-m backstroke, 400-m freestyle, 50-m backstroke, 100-m backstroke, 200-m freestyle.
Valentine also obtained silver in 400-m individual medley and the 4-by-200-m freestyle relay.
Carson Ogloff, 13, lives in Olds, and was competing for Zone 4. He won bronze in 50-m backstroke and 100-m backstroke.
Aiden Morgan, 14, also lives in Olds. He too was competing for Zone 4. Morgan obtained silver in 4-by-50-m freestyle relay.
Sarah Schmick, 21, who lives in Carstairs and was competing for Zone 2, won gold in 50-m freestyle.
She also won silver in 100-m freestyle, 50-m backstroke, 100-m backstroke, 4-by-50-m freestyle relay, 50-m butterfly.
