The Innisfail Minor Soccer Association is still looking for volunteers for various positions.
"We are always looking for coaches," said Trina Westman, the acting president and treasurer of the association. She said other positions include equipment managers, field maintenance people and a coordinator for the U4 group.
There was some concern a few weeks ago that the season might not happen due to a lack of volunteers and registrations, but Westman said things look better now.
"My guess would be everything will go ahead," she said. Westman did add more registrations are needed for the U12 and U14 teams.
The season starts May 1 and goes to June 26. The number of teams in each league depends on the number of kids playing.
There are teams for kids aged four to 14. Registration costs range between $50 and $130 depending on the player's age.
Westman said the registration fee includes things like insurance, jerseys and a photo, but not equipment like shin pads and cleats.
The U4s play once a week, and the other teams play twice a week. The U12 and U14 teams also practice once a week.
Westman said games are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
"If you want to come and play, come play," Westman said. Usually there are about 250 players registered with the association each season.
"It's usually consistent," Westman said.
There's a potential for an adult team to play this year if enough players are interested, Westman said.
The board is hoping to get more adults involved in running the association as well, she said.
"If anybody wants to come out and learn more, they're welcome," Westman said.
