OLDS — Olds car salesman/singer/wrestler Logan James is the Can Am Wrestling Community Chaos Champion, but he’s keenly aware he could lose his title at any time.
James won the title after defeating former Community Chaos Champ Andy Anderson during a match July 20 at Bulldogs Saloon in Olds.
However, “being that this title must be defended 24/7, anything could happen,” James wrote in an email. “Andy Anderson has a rematch clause, and anyone else can challenge at any time as well.”
“I'd been dreaming and scheming ways to take that belt off him,” James said during an interview.
Food was a factor in the match, James indicated.
He said during the July 20 event, Anderson received a pizza and was told that a fan had ordered it for him.
Just as Anderson was about to eat it, the commissioner told him he had to defend his title in another match.
Anderson spotted a person he thought was the contender and was focused on him, so he didn’t notice when James slid into the ring behind him.
“Commissioner Otto says ‘your opponent’s already in the ring’ and he turns around. He's holding the pizza, just pretty hot,” James said.
“I smashed that pizza into his eyes and hit him in the gut with the tray. The bell rings.
“I hit him with a stunner (a wrestling move).
“He's still on his feet.
“One more stone cold stunner, a three count, the place goes nuts and I was the champ.”
After the match, James posed for a photo surrounded by admiring kids, including some members of an Olds Stingers minor lacrosse team.
James said a drink created in his name raised $545 for the Stingers team to help support that team, including travel expenses.
James says a deal has been made with the Mayfair Cinema to show the match Aug. 9 before the screening of a movie.
