OLDS — The Olds College Broncos are looking forward to the new year after a pretty tough fall semester.
As of Dec. 23 in Alberta Colleges Athletic Association (ACAC) play, the women’s hockey team had a 1-2 record, the men’s basketball team were 2-4 and the women’s basketball team had a 1-5 record. Both the men’s and women’s volleyball teams had identical 2-6 records.
The teams are all off for their Christmas break now. As they do so, the omicron variant is raging throughout the country.
Broncos spokesman Harrison Corolis was asked if they’re making any accommodations for that fact.
Corolis said because the athletes are all on their Christmas break, no adjustments have been made yet. However, “we will continue our COVID-19 protocols that the conference has implemented and will adjust accordingly before student-athletes arrival back on campus,” he wrote in an email.
