The Olds College Broncos will ice a women's hockey team in the 2015-16 season after the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) approved the school's application.The team will play out of the Olds Sports Complex.Olds College will join Grant MacEwan, NAIT, Red Deer College and SAIT as the fifth school to have a women's hockey team in the ACAC.The decision came during the ACAC Conference meetings held in Edmonton from May 8 to 12.Starting this fall, Olds College will also have a badminton team that will compete in the ACAC and Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA).Badminton teams usually include eight members who compete in men's and women's singles, doubles or mixed doubles.From Feb. 26 to 28, Olds College will also host the 2014-15 women's volleyball championships in the Ralph Klein Centre.It will be the fifth conference championship hosted by Olds College in the past three seasons.Last season, the school hosted golf and women's basketball championships. The year before, Olds College hosted futsal and curling finals.
