OLDS — The Olds Grizzlys added a defenceman one day after they announced they’d released another.
They’ve added 2005-born, six-foot tall defenceman Dean Crouch who until recently, had been playing with the Elliott Lake Vikings of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League.
The Vikings folded and Crouch, originally an Ohio product, ended up as a free agent.
His acquisition was announced Jan. 7 by Kevin Watson, the Grizzlys’ manager of business operations.
In 12 games with the Vikings, Crouch scored one goal and garnered four points.
He also played 16 games with the Winnipeg Blues of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.
On Monday, Jan. 6 Watson announced that the Grizzlys had released 18-year-old defenceman Dekkam Dallas of Sundre.
Dallas played 15 games with the Grizzlys. During that time he obtained two assists.
Dallas joined the West Chester Wolves of the National Collegiate Development Conference.
