OLDS — The Olds Grizzlys finished off November with a decisive win, downing the Camrose Kodiaks 4-1 during a matinee game Nov. 27 at the Olds Sportsplex.

That improved the Grizzlys record to 8-17-3-1-0 for 19 points in 28 games. They remain in the South Division basement, but only one point behind Calgary Canucks (7-14-4-0-2).

The Kodiaks didn’t even get on the scoreboard until the 8:01 mark of the third period, when Nathan Sullivan scored on a powerplay.

Cade Moxam kicked off the scoring for Olds with his seventh goal of the season the season at 14:14 of the first period, assisted by Jacob Rude and Travis Baker.

The Grizzlys added two more in the second period to go up 3-0 on goals by Watson (assisted by David Clarke and Baker) and Nathan White, assisted by Rude.

Sullivan’s marker did make it a closer game and in the dying minutes they pulled their goaltender in a bid to score a couple more, but Tanner Klimpke, player of the month, shut the door with an empty-netter at the 19:34.

The Kodiaks peppered Olds goaltender Marcus Cumberworth with 47 shots on goal. The Grizzlys fired 27 at Camrose goaltender Robert Andreakos.

The Grizzlys were an astonishing 50 per cent on the power play (one for two). The Kodiaks were one for four.

The Grizzlys’ next action occurs on the road, when they travel to Drumheller to take on the Dragons on Dec. 2, then head to Brooks to face off against the Bandits.
