OLDS — Olds Grizzlys goaltender Aidan Comeau has been named to the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) 2023-24 Inter Pipeline AJHL all-academic team.

One player was named from each of the 11 teams in the AJHL, the league announced March 21.

“The all-academic team recognizes players regarded as having commendable dedication to their studies at either the high school or post-secondary level, along with a grade score reflective of their academic success,” the announcement said.

“The players selected each demonstrate qualities of an exceptional student-athlete working to further their athletic and academic achievements.”

Inter Pipeline also provides a $1,500 scholarship to one current or former AJHL athlete.

That scholarship goes to a player deemed most deserving among the applicants, based on proven qualities of leadership, sportsmanship, dedication and citizenship.

The winner of that scholarship recipient will be announced later.

The 2023-24 Viterra AJHL All-League and All-Rookie teams will be announced before this year’s Inter Pipeline Cup AJHL semi-finals begin at the end of March.
