OLDS — The Olds Grizzlys have a chance to get back in the win column when the team hosts the Calgary Canucks this Friday.

Game time is 7 p.m. at the Sportsplex.

It’s a rematch of a game played Nov. 5 in Calgary, which the Grizzlys won, 3-2 in overtime, snapping a 12-game losing streak (0-10-2 during that period).

Unfortunately, the Grizzlys lost their very next game when the Bonnyville Pontiacs won 6-3 Sunday, Nov. 6 at the Sportsplex.

On Friday, Nov. 4, the Grizzlys lost 4-1 to the Sherwood Park Crusaders at the Sportsplex. On Saturday, the Crusaders' bus was involved in a multi-vehicle crash in snowy conditions. Everyone on board was reported to be safe and sound. The team stayed overnight in Ponoka.

Friday's game will likely be another battle for the Grizzlys.

As of Monday, the Grizzlys had a 6-13-3-0 record in the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s (AJHL) south division, good for seventh place in the eight-team division.

The Canucks were in last place with a record of 5-10-3-1 for 15 points, just one point behind the Grizzlys.

On Saturday, Nov. 12, the Grizzlys are scheduled to travel to Blackfalds for a game against the Bulldogs.

As of Monday, the Bulldogs sat fourth in the South division with a 12-6-1-0 record in 19 games.

Meanwhile, it was announced on Saturday via Grizzlys’ website that forward Tanner Klimpke had committed to play for the Robert Morris University Colonials, an NCAA Division 1 school.
