OLDS — The École Olds High School senior boys volleyball team is getting ready for its next big challenge: a tournament in Strathmore Nov. 3-4.
They host a league game against Carstairs Nov. 1 which is also a chance to tune up for that tournament.
The team had had a bye last week which came on the heels of a tournament in Banff where they ended up in fifth place.
Head coach Kristy Hartt and her son Liam were unable to participate, as they had a family matter to attend to. Another player’s mom stepped in to serve as coach for that event.
“We only had seven players on Saturday as we had some players away, so we were – again – left having to improvise in some positions and have other players step up,” head coach Kristy Hartt wrote in an email.
“All our games were very close and only had around a five-point difference or we split sets and went to a third to determine the winner, so it meant that we competed well,” she added.
