OLDS — The École Olds High School JV boys basketball team is the Chinook’s Edge South Athletic Association champions.
The team won the league championship March 4, downing Carstairs 70-45.
“It was a really great game,” head coach Natasha Lester wrote in an email. “Our boys played strong defence straight away that set the tone for the rest of the game.
“They maintained this throughout the whole night and our offence naturally generated off of it.
“It was a great team win, as everyone contributed on both ends of the court.
“Players were seeing the floor and each other really well and taking advantage of great scoring opportunities.”
Next action for the Spartans is a play-in game for zones.
If the Spartans win that, they’re off to the zones which will be held 14-15 in Strathmore.
