OLDS — The École Olds High School junior varsity girls volleyball team is on a high after winning the league championship Nov. 7 in the CLC Fitness Centre gym in Olds.
Now the team is playing in zones being held Nov. 17 in Strathmore.
In the final, the Spartans won both sets against Olds Koinonia Christian School. They won the first set 25-11. The second set was much closer, ending up 25-22.
Head coach Stephanie Crofts says there are some learnings from that final that the girls could make use of in the zones.
“(The) best learning is coverage of the court,” Crofts wrote in an email.
“It is important especially when the other team is reading where the holes are and start moving the ball around. We need to really be aggressive in that area.”
