OLDS — The pee wee Huskies football team is on the road in Stettler Saturday, Sept. 21 after suffering a defeat last weekend.
The team was crushed 65-32 by the Lacombe Explosion.
It was the second game in Football Day in Olds.
“Simply put, we were outmatched by the top team in the league,” head coach Dennis Yurchevich wrote to the Albertan in an email.
“We have a lot of new players this season who are still trying to find themselves and their game. We've got a lot of work to do, but we'll get there. Lacombe came in as a strong team, ready to play.”
Yurchevich said the Huskies need to do “a lot of work on both sides of the ball.”
“Our defence needs work in the secondary with containment, as well as the linemen getting through,” he wrote.
“Our offensive line needs to get stronger and hold blocks longer to give our quarterback and ball carriers time.
