OLDS — Tryouts have just been completed for the École Olds High School Spartans senior girls volleyball team and coach Jesse Stoddart is happy with the squad he has.
In an email, he described the team as “very competitive, a team that has a chance to represent the Spartans in a positive way, both on and off the court.”
“We have a very solid group of girls with a ton of volleyball experience,” he wrote.
“The majority of athletes have returned from last year's team, which will help guide us to continued success, with some new faces that help add another element to our team.”
When contacted, Stoddart did not yet know the team’s season schedule but he was pumped, nonetheless.
“I am very excited to see what this team has in store,” he wrote. "I have already seen improvements from the girls which is very promising.”
