OLDS — The École Olds High School Spartans football camp is in its last few days.
It ends with a jamboree in Fort Saskatchewan on May 31.
Head coach Kent Lorenz has high hopes for this year’s squad after being beaten by the Cardston Cougars in the playoffs last year.
“The team and coaching staff is looking to improve on last season and continue to develop a culture of competition, unity and respect for their opponents, officials and the game itself,” Lorenz wrote in an email.
“The players that have come out to spring camp have been highly motivated, committed and are very coachable. Having a team-first attitude has been very refreshing.
“With continued hard work and dedication, the Spartans football team will be a team to be reckoned with this season.”
