OLDS — Some very important dates are coming up fast for École Olds High School (ÉOHS) track and field athletes.
For senior athletes, the divisionals will be held May 15 in Sundre, followed by the zones May 22 in Calgary and the provincials June 7-8 in Edmonton.
Sundre will also host the junior track divisionals on May 23. The junior track and field zones will be held May 28 in Calgary.
ÉOHS athletic director Jeff Clattenburg and Rachel Andres are coaching the school’s track and field team.
“Our track and field season has had a disjointed start with the un-cooperating weather we've experienced over the past two weeks,” Clattenburg wrote in an email.
“While the overall number of athletes who have been able to come out seems lower than in past years, the quality and strength of athletes remains high.
“I anticipate many of our athletes placing very well at divisionals with a few athletes having their sights set on provincials this season.”
